Kiss the Son!

The quote above is humorous but often we don't stop talking and allow God to speak.  Our inability to sit quietly before Him and listen is a manifestation of unbelief. We talk over Him and then complain we never hear His voice. Oh how we love to hear ourselves talk. 

“Be still, and know that I am God.” ...Psalm 46:10

Husbands show love to their wives with tender affection, often expressed in a simple, gentle kiss. In those moments, words are unnecessary.  Silence becomes its own language of love.

In the same way, when we come before our Lord in quiet adoration with no words or requests, our stillness becomes a holy kiss offered to Him. A heart overflowing with love does not need to speak constantly.

Jesus while He was dining at the house of a Pharisee said, "You gave Me no kiss"...Luke 7:45  He longs to kiss us. 

So today when you speak to Him, make sure you also enjoy His presence. Prayer is not a monologue. Prayer is not even always a conversation, but the deepest prayer is silent intimacy.
