The Healing Dance: The Thought That Made Her Whole
When did the “yes” to healing begin for the woman with the issue of blood?
Was it before she touched the hem of His garment…
in the moment her fingers brushed the fabric…
or after Jesus spoke?
Her healing did not begin at the hem.
It began in her thoughts.
“For she kept saying to herself, ‘If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.’” (Matt. 9:21)
All action begins in thought. Before we create or do anything, we first rehearse it within ourselves. We see it inwardly before we ever step toward it outwardly. You can only move toward what you have first allowed yourself to see.
In the Greek, “she said to herself” carries the sense of continual action. She wasn’t thinking it once. She was repeating it. Turning it over. Holding it. Letting it live, vibrate, work, and sing inside her.
In Hebrew thinking, thoughts are tangible substances. We tend to think thoughts are abstract. Ideas without mass or energy. But nothing can be farther from the truth.
Her thoughts were not passive. They were active. Faith-filled. Moving. They were the origin and motivation of her “work” of faith. We get our English word “energy” from the Greek word for work and working—energeo. This is the energy that initiated the faith that made a draw on Jesus’ anointing.
Her faith was vibrating long before her body pushed through the crowd.
When she touched Him, power flowed.
“And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?” Mar 5:30
In Aramaic the word for “virtue” is khayil. It is typically translated as power, specifically one linked to vibration. Its root refers to twirling, spinning, dancing, trembling, and vibrating.
Her thoughts twirled and vibrated toward Him.
His virtue (khayil) twirled and vibrated toward her and there was a divine healing dance.
A synchronization.
A song was sung.
And then He sang:
“Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.” (Mark 5:34)
The dance began in her mind .
What thoughts are you allowing to rehearse and vibrate inside you?
Align your thoughts, the tangible, substances of faith, with the “virtue” of Jesus.
He is always ready to forgive, always ready to heal. Let them move in rhythm with His promises. Let them resonate with His love.
Hold onto thoughts that agree with Him.
Let them dance.
Let them sing.
And when faith moves you forward,
you will hear Him sing,
“Daughter. Son. Go in peace. You are made well.
Sing His song and He will sing with you. Science calls it quantum entanglement! We call it a divine union.
