Do you feel qualified?

Chosen from the “Are nots
1 Cor. 1:26-29

Do you feel insignificant, unimportant, overlooked, and defeated? This means you  believe you “are not” significant, important, and that you don’t measure up, or don’t matter.   Well I have good news. You may be in good company.
Here’s a shortlist of some of the famous “are nots”.

Gideon-felt insignificant and overlooked; he felt he was the smallest and the least.
Abraham-
thought his time had passed, that the promise was too far gone.
Moses- saw himself as a fugitive, disqualified and unable to speak.
Rahab-
believed she was trapped in a life of shame with no way out.

Gideon -“you are not a mighty warrior” mindset.
Abraham-“you are not a father of nations”.
Moses- “you are not an anointed deliverer”.
Rahab-“you are not called to be a carrier of the Messiah’s seed”.

God sees your potential. He is calling you and patiently waits for you to believe.  It took Gideon a while before he stepped into his calling but God waited because He chooses the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are.

Think about the bumblebee. The bumble bee is a great God-given example for us to see His wisdom.  The bumble bee is a classic “are not”.

Scientists say, “Bumble bee, you ‘are not’ supposed to be able to fly.  Your body is too large for your wings. Your wings are too small”.

It’s a good thing the bumble cannot read science books!

However, it’s a good thing you and I can read The Book.  The Bible declares that God chooses and calls the “are nots”  to do great and mighty things putting to shame the wise and the mighty.

Next time you feel like you are an  “are not” or someone makes you feel like an “are not”, remember the bumble bee and fly anyway.

1Co 1:26-29 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. 27  But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 28  and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence.
