Shabbat Chazon — The Sabbath of Vision
You haven't missed it!
The door opened at sundown Friday, July 17, but I believe the Spirit of the Lord is saying, "I am leaving the door open for the rest of the month of Av." (Ends August 14th Rosh Chodesh Elul)
That door opened on Shabbat Chazon—the Sabbath of Vision. This is a prophetic invitation. It is a time when the Lord calls those who seek Him into a deeper place of divine revelation.
Jeremiah 33:3 (NET) says,
"Call on me in prayer and I will answer you. I will show you great and mysterious things which you still do not know about."
The Hebrew word chazon means vision, but it carries a much deeper meaning than simply seeing something with your eyes. It speaks of divine communication, a knowing, a revelation, an encounter with God that changes how you see everything.
The Pattern-The timing of this Sabbath is remarkable.
Shabbat Chazon always comes immediately before Tisha B'Av, the ninth day of the biblical month of Av, historically considered the saddest day in Israel's history. On this very day both the First Temple and the Second Temple were destroyed more than 600 years apart.
God's calendar matters. His calendar reveals prophetic patterns. It shows us cycles to avoid and seasons of blessing that are available to those who discern the times.
The Temple was never simply a building. It was sacred space where God spoke.
When the Temple was destroyed, it appeared that everything had been lost. Israel mourned not merely the loss of a building but the loss of the place where God met with His people.
Yet God already had redemption in motion.
Jesus Fulfilled the Pattern
God has always desired to dwell with His people, not merely in a building.
When He instructed Moses,
Let them make Me a sanctuary, so that I may dwell among them." (Exodus 25:8)
His heart was never fixed on a structure an “it”. His heart was always fixed on dwelling in His people. Jesus fulfilled what the Temple foreshadowed.
What the Spirit Is Saying Today
I believe the Spirit of God is speaking loudly during this month of Av.
Don't only look at what has been destroyed. Look at what God is rebuilding.
Shabbat Chazon comes before Tisha B'Av for a reason.
- God gives vision before restoration. Before you can walk into your future, you must first see it.
Some of you have grieved dreams that seem buried.
Some have watched relationships ministries, health, or finances collapse.
The Lord says, "Call to Me." is not asking you to stare at the rubble. He is inviting you to see what He sees.
Jeremiah 33:3 is His invitation:
"Call on Me in prayer and I will answer you. I will show you great and mysterious things which you still do not know about."
The Hebrew word translated "mysterious" is batsar, meaning something fortified, inaccessible, hidden away.
What a beautiful picture. God is revealing things that devils cannot touch.
He is building something in you that the enemy cannot destroy because it has been fortified by Heaven itself.
Enter the Sabbath of Vision
The vision He gives may not always come as an open vision before your eyes. More often it comes as an inner knowing, a divine certainty, a supernatural hope, a deep soul experience where Heaven impresses His future upon your heart.
That is chazon.
This month, rebuild sacred space within your own heart.
Make room again for His voice.
Return to the Holy of Holies within. He dwells there.
Our Father is not merely restoring what was lost. He is revealing something greater for you to abide in, to live in, and to dwell in. Not something material, but something far greater, something that cannot be touched. New, fresh, restored life.
Don't hesitate.
Hesitation is the language of doubt, but action is the language of faith.
Faith moves the heart of God, and when His heart is moved, mountains move.
He will show us the future, but it will stay in the future if we don’t start living it now. We don’t wait. See it. Believe it.
The future is waiting to be activated. Go through the door.
